Student Group & Club Vendor Policy
Cherokee Trail student clubs and organizations are invited to participate in the CT Craft Fair! This is a great opportunity to raise funds for your club’s activities or to support a nonprofit cause you care about, while also being part of our school community event.
Booth Space
-
CT student clubs may reserve one 5’ x 10’ booth space at no charge.
-
To receive the free booth code, the club’s advisor or student leader must email the VP of Fundraising before registering.
Fundraising Purpose
-
Clubs may sell items to raise money for their own club or to benefit a nonprofit organization that the club supports.
-
All sales and activities must be school-approved and align with district and PTCO guidelines.
Tax & Legal Rules
-
Colorado law provides certain sales tax exemptions for school clubs when sales benefit the school or a student organization.
-
To qualify for this exemption, the following conditions must be met:
-
The club must be a recognized CT student club, class, or organization.
-
All proceeds (after covering actual costs) must go back to the club or to a nonprofit that the school has approved.
-
Clubs should keep records of their costs and sales for transparency.
-
-
While most school-based sales are exempt from state sales tax, some city or county taxes may still apply. If unsure, clubs should confirm with the VP of Fundraising.
Food Sales
-
If selling food, the club must follow Colorado’s food safety regulations.
-
Pre-packaged foods may be covered under the Colorado Cottage Foods Act (with proper labeling).
-
Prepared foods may require additional approvals or licensing.
-
-
All food items must be clearly labeled and handled safely.
General Guidelines
-
All student clubs must follow the same rules and deadlines as other vendors.
-
Products must be appropriate for a school event and reflect the values of our CT community.
-
Clubs are encouraged to decorate their booths and engage with shoppers to highlight their cause!
