Student Vendor Policy
Cherokee Trail High School students are encouraged to participate in the CT Craft Fair as vendors! We love giving students the opportunity to showcase their creativity, business skills, and entrepreneurial spirit. To keep everything fair, legal, and smooth for our shoppers and vendors, all student participants must follow the guidelines below:
Student Booth Space
-
CT students may reserve one 5’ x 10’ booth space at no charge.
-
Students must contact the PTCO VP of Fundraising to receive a code that waives the booth fee at registration.
Business & Sales Requirements
-
Student vendors must be selling a tangible product or handmade item.
-
All student vendors are required to comply with Colorado state laws and tax regulations, including:
-
Obtaining a Colorado Sales Tax License / Special Event Sales Tax License
-
Charging the correct sales tax on all purchases
-
Filing and submitting their own sales tax returns to the Colorado Department of Revenue
-
Obtaining a Colorado Business License (if required)
-
If a student vendor intends to sell food (including baked goods, prepared foods, or snacks), they must comply with Colorado’s food safety and health regulations. Depending on what and how much is being sold, this may include obtaining a Temporary Food Vendor or Special Event Retail Food License, using a licensed commissary kitchen for prep, meeting public health inspections, following the Cottage Foods Act (if applicable), and ensuring proper labeling, packaging, and handling.
-
General Rules
-
Student vendors must follow all Craft Fair rules and deadlines, just like other vendors.
-
Student vendors should be prepared to manage their own booth (with parent/guardian support if needed).
-
All products must align with school guidelines and community standards.
